In November 2023, I flew to Nashville to brainstorm with my editor as I kicked off my second book. I also worked with her on my first book, Functional Medicine: The New Standard (in case you didn’t know—lol). We spent two days, six hours each, in a coffee shop. I did most of the talking (lol), throwing out a stream of ideas, while she did what she does best—asking the right questions and shaping those ideas into a structured chapter design. Huge thanks to my editor, Ami McConnell!
Like my first book, I write in a free-flowing style, so what we mapped out after those two days is vastly different from what the final product will be. Just two days ago, I completed the first round of major edits. It’s now 90% complete—up from barely 30% three weeks ago. A huge part of this progress is thanks to my wife, my greatest sounding board and grounding force, who patiently let me retreat to our condo in Galveston for eight days to write.
I have to say, I truly believe this book is a rockstar—not because I wrote it, but because of what I’m introducing to you. When I discovered Functional Medicine in 2011, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Most people study one track—I signed up for at least five during a two-year sabbatical to fully grasp its framework.
Now, I’m back in that candy store, this time diving into Biological Decoding under my mentor, Isabelle Benarous. Just as Functional Medicine, with Dr. Mark Hyman as my mentor, connects different medical disciplines, Biological Decoding links thoughts, energy, and health in a way that goes far beyond today’s typical mind-body discussions.
Biological Decoding is a blueprint for understanding how emotional conflicts—unresolved negative thoughts—get filed away in symbolic forms within the subconscious. If not released, they shape our biology. From this perspective, disease isn’t a mistake—it’s a self-creation, where your biology aligns with your unresolved conflicts.
This isn’t my work; I’m just the messenger. But I know I’m one of only a handful of medical doctors in the U.S. connecting these dots and actively integrating this game-changing blueprint beyond the physical for my patients. After 25 years as a physician and thousands of patient stories, I now embrace this paradigm with the same confidence I had when I first adopted the Functional Medicine model.
Here’s Where I Need Your Help
If I can reach 300 pre-orders, Barnes & Noble will be more likely to carry the book in their stores. At the Nashville Writers Fest this past November, I heard repeatedly that writing a book is only 10% of the process—the rest is post-production and marketing.
When I self-published my first book, it came out two weeks into the COVID lockdown—great timing, right? I didn’t write that book (or this one) to make money, but five years later, I’ve finally broken even. I wrote it to share new ideas and contribute to collective human consciousness in a meaningful way—and I’m more excited than ever!
If you’ve already pre-ordered, THANK YOU!
If not, please consider signing up for pre-order notification—and share this link with five loved ones. As soon as the pre-order becomes available, you'll be the first to know!
